One end of the boom is fixed to the column, and the other end is extended to carry the welding head and move horizontally. The motor provides power and pushes the welding head to slide forward and backward along the boom through the transmission device to adjust the position of the welding head to adapt to different welding paths. Some booms also have telescopic functions, which make them adjustable in length to cover a wider range of welding operations.
Motion control of welding head
As the core component, the welding head directly performs welding operations. The movement of the welding head is controlled by the column and the boom to achieve the welding of complex welds. Modern systems mostly use CNC technology to make the movement of the welding head more precise. The operator can enter parameters or preset programs through the control panel to make the welding head move along the set path, thereby ensuring the consistency and quality of the weld. The moving speed and trajectory of the welding head have a great influence on the welding quality. The system usually has a speed adjustment function to meet different materials and welding requirements.
